2 years lol, but you have had some other work to do!!! Will we see your car this summer? 8)

I will fit them as soon as i can. Already started to spay the radias arm brackets in rostlösare, so they come of in one piece.

The only part I am unsure about is the CV mount. I have a faint scrapping from the drivers wheel. I have already replaced the bearings. So it may be the Cv joint. Or it might be brake pad related, i have a set of Metro retaining clips which i will need to modify to fit my 7.5" 4 pots. Hopeful that works, as I am not really in the mood to change the CV.

lots of small updates.....

Bit of a hassle with a wheel alignment (finding somewhere and the mini sport brackets are tough to adjust) but got close to teh settings i wanted.
Fram -
Camber -1.5
Caster 3.5 exact on both sides
Toe -0.36

Bak
Camber -0.4
Toe 0.32

Next came the besiktining, left with a blank paper. First time in my ownership :rivstart:

Spent last weekend waxoyling the hålrum and i stone chipped the sills and inner arches (masking off my nice new suspension parts first)

Spent some time setting the tappets. If you haven't done it in a while, definitely worth it, i really noticed a difference.

which meant, while testing my new found power. I lost one of my front works splash guards, on the E22 somewhere between Burlov and Åkarp . So decided to make my own. A trip to biltema for some thick rubber and stealing an ikea chopping board fpr the backing from the Kitchen, i made a new set. Much stronger than the ones i bought from England.

And then the first proper outing of the year: Löddekoping....

Spent sunday afternoon, trying to fit solid subframe mounts. Managed to get one of the rear mounts in place and bolted up, but aligning the holes was really tough.

Now officially solid mounted in the front sub frame :P

Haven't really tested the car more than a couple of km but feels nice and tight. Vibrations I would say are less, and bumps less harsh.

Finally i found someone who has posted the wheelalignment on a forum! Whas it hard to adjust? I think that the rear camberbrackets from minisport is hard to adjust and doesnt give that much camber. I am thinking of welding a adjustmentscrew on those little suckers. At the moment i have aprox 5 deg camber in the front and static suspension.. :D im so tired of adjusting now. as soon as i get the ridehight right ill take it to the "däckfirman".

How is it to drive? I think ill copy your setup..

Keep it up.

I was aiming for the following:
Camber 1 deg to 1.5 deg negative
2.75 to 3 degrees caster
Zero to 1.5 mm toe out

Rear:
Zero to -0.5 deg negative
1mm to 2mm toe in

The rear brackets are a real pain to adjust. Not many places were interested in working on a mini. In the end I ended up. Almost doing it my sel at a tire place who could handle 10" wheels.

Car handles great, nothing bad to say!

Looks great!!! Those tires are Yokohama A032 right?
Did you have them on the car on "besiktningen".
I am planning to buy those but i have no other tires so if they do not approve these tires i need to buy another set just to have for "besiktning"

No problem with besiktning at all.

They are just a road tyre. Albeit a really fun one!

Spring is in the air! which signals to get the car from the garage

I have always wanted to loose the mK3/mk4/mk5 rear lights. I wanted mk1s, but hats a bit too much work and cost. So I ordered a set of Mk2 from mini spares. the quality is amazing, like a boiled sweet, deep read colour. they are so much smaller than the Mk3. I always thought they were shorter but they are much shallower also. happy days. Wiring was an issue. Since how ever fitted the towbar and just grafted and scotch blocked onto the wiring harnesss. theres me thinking it was factory or at least fitted at the german dealer! The car arrived in Sweden on year after manufactured and had a tow bar.

So let the transformation begin....

I also fitted my new sump gaurd. I am still thinking how to mount my number plate. I was thinking of tucking it right under the bumper and tilting like thy do in Japan. I mean I need to show the sump guard off. Hopefully it is visible in the next pictures.

I also stuck a number circle on the bonnet / wing I ordered from roofless, quality was great, though applying vinyl isnt my strength. i have tried so many times and always end up ripping it of. this time it went well but I am not 100% happy with it. Good job I ordered a spare which I will have professionally applied.
