electric nightmare
electric nightmare
Somebody help me. I have a battery warning light that lights up more and more with every electrical device I turn on. I have replaced the alternator and still the problem persists. If somebody has any advice please share. Robin.

TBH I'm crap at electrics but here goes:
One earth strap goes from engine to front subframe alternatively the inner wing? Not sure about inner wing one!
This strap sometimes 'breaks' as the engine moves about, rust at the connections dont help either..
But as these cars are a bit old now it could have been moved/modified.
Also check the earth strap that goes from battery to boot floor, loosen the bolt that goes into boot floor and clean cable-end and boot floor from any rust or paint and put it back on.
This MIGHT cure it.
Maybe best to check the cables to/from alternator, they're pretty old now and can cause trouble if they've been in the same position since -75.
As its a GT you have a tacho, check that idle speed aint to low 800-1000rpm might work, look in owners manual if possible!
Oh and even if its a new alternator it can be faulty
