well today i crashed the mini into the garage door.

The entrance to our garage is quite steep, I was reversing the car up the slope, and the garage doors which open outwards were ajar!

I applied the hand brake (which ironically i was just about to tighten) anyway the car rolled forward before i could catch the biting point or brake. and i crashed into the door. i will let the pics speak for themselves:







We think a panel beater may be able to straighten the wing and front panel. I will need a new bonnet and of course the bumper, spot light etc.


One question! I have my besiktning on Thursday, and as the headlamp isn't straight i assume it will fail. also the bonnet isnt easy to open so may fail here too. What do I do in this situation?
Take the car for the besiktning and fail it giving me more time to fix it? or?

the car must be besiknad before may 1st, which is a pain.

oh and does anyone know a good panel beater in Malmö or one that is willing to come to my house for cash?

Oh man.... do I feel sorry for you!
First the undercarriage and now this......
Take it to besiktning as scheduled. Remove the chrome rim around the headlight and maybe, maybe they´ll try to adjust the light for you. As for the bonnet I don´t think they will say anything as long as it stays closed when it is supposed to.

ouch! that sucks, I think you have to be able to open the bonnet so that they can read the "chassinummer".

Not sure if it worth going through insurance, but i will call them Tuesday and check.

I don't want to give the car to a garage, I just got the car back after a previous accident 2 weeks ago. the garage had the car for 5 weeks or so, mostly because the insurance company took such long time to 'process' requests, quotes or even to return calls to the garage.

There is a Ditec 200 metres from our house so i will go there Tuesday (they may even be open tomorrow).

I may have Ditec do a quick pull of the dent and get the light a bit straighter.

Chassis number is also located in the lip of the boot opening, lucky its a mini!!!!
