1380 7 port - Legally what do I do?

As a Scot living here, i am not sure about the Swedish procedures in engine swaps etc.

I am thinking of a 1380 7 port fuel ejected engine for my 96 Spi.

Firstly is this possible?

Who do I need to inform, the insurance company, SBP etc?

Is it easier to overbore my current engine, so I can keep the same engine code?

Enkelt! På en bil tillverkad efter 1975 får man inte ändra något som påverkar avgasreningen med andra ord "emissions" MEN då gäller det att dom upptäcker om något är ändrat gör dom inte det så ja.. whistle while you walk away

Jajamen! Du kan skruva ihop en sån motor och sätta den i din bil, men glöm att den någonsin går att besiktiga med den motorn.

Svenska försäkringsbolag är ännu inte lika tuffa som dom engelska, men upptäcker dom något som gör att de kan slippa undan betala vid en skada gör dom gärna det.

Yep probably, but here goes the same "if they cant spot it you might get away with it" but anything that affects the emissions like a camshaft on the "wild side" fecks up the emissions, something that an overbore most likely wont.
There's a reason Swiftune has developed a camshaft like Sw5 which if the engine is in good condition should pass said emissions with one fitted.
Cant remember which company who made a programmable ECU for Spi mini's but in this case it sure would be a great idea to look into because it would make tuning one so it runs good so much easier to pass Sbp if not easy if you see what I mean.

Thanks for the reply, even if it was bad news.

Time to have a serious think about, if i dare risk it with SBP and the insurance companies.

Maybe I just buy a nice 205 GTI instead
